The Registered Trustees of League of Transformation Foundation (“the LOT Foundation”) is an association of passionate individuals in socioeconomic and environmental transformation for sustainable human and natural resources development in the Republic of Malawi.

I'm Timothy Mtambo
Patron and Founder of the foundation

Timothy Mtambo is the leader and president of Citizens for Transformation (CFT), a People Power Movement. He served as Minister of National Unity and Civic Education in the Republic of Malawi from 2020 to 2023. A passionate governance, development, and human rights practitioner and activist, Mtambo brings over a decade of experience in non-governmental organization programming and management, focusing on development, human rights, and governance. From 2013 to 2020, he was the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR), a pioneer human rights organisation in Malawi and, from 2017 to 2020, the founding chairperson of the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) in Malawi. He has also served on numerous boards and committees, including the Malawi Electoral Support Network, Africa Technical Working Group on Open Contracting, the Steering Committee of the Malawi Open Governance Partnership, and the Malawi Alliance Against Child Marriages, among others. Mtambo’s advocacy extends to regional and global platforms. From 2013 to 2020, he served as vice chairperson of the Southern Africa Human Rights Defenders Network, and Malawi’s focal point for several international networks and coalitions, including the Civil Society Coalition for International Criminal Justice, the Coalition for an Effective African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, and the Pan-African Human Rights Defenders Network. He has extensive experience in high-level advocacy at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the United Nations human rights treaty mechanisms. Academically, Mtambo holds a Master’s degree in International Cooperation and Development, specializing in Development Economics, from the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Pavia, Italy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Malawi. His commitment to justice and human rights dates back to his days as a student leader, where he emerged as an ardent defender of human dignity and social justice.

Investing in essential basic infrastructure and services for rural communities such as affordable housing, health facilities, Education facilities and road infrastructure.
